ABOUT US

The PTSD Research Program at the San Francisco VA Medical Center is staffed by experienced, compassionate physicians, psychologists, and social workers who are experts in the human response to traumatic stress. They study better ways to understand, diagnose, and treat posttraumatic stress disorder.

The program conducts observational studies, medication trials, and treatment-development studies that focus on contemporary interventions for those suffering with PTSD. Charles Marmar, MD., Associate Chief of Staff of Mental Health at SFVAMC, leads the program.
