| The Brain at War |
June 17, 2010 - Almost two million Americans have served or are currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Many have served multiple tours - increasing their chances of post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, depression, anad suicidal thoughts, among other injuries and conditions. In response, NCIRE sponsors The Brain at War - the premier national conference on the neurocognitive consequences of combat.

| DoD Investigator Day |
NCIRE has received $5 million for fiscal year 2009 to support the Neuroscience Center of Excellence, a research partnership between the Department of Defense, the San Francisco VA Medical Center, and NCIRE. The money was included in the Department of Defense funding bill signed on October 14 by President George W. Bush.
